Sources familiar with the investigation told news agency ANI that Sahil Gehlot, the accused in the Najafgarh murder case, has claimed that he drove around with his lover Nikki Yadav for hours before killing her between 8:30 and 9:00 am on February 10th.

The discovery of a young woman’s body inside a fridge at a dhaba in Delhi, allegedly murdered by her former live-in partner, has shocked the nation. Investigators have now uncovered that the murder didn’t occur secretly in the dead of night, but rather in broad daylight at a public location.

Sahil Gehlot, the accused in the murder case of his former lover Nikki Yadav, has confessed to driving around with her for hours before killing her the next day in a public parking lot near Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi, according to sources cited by news agency ANI. He also admitted to deleting all data, including WhatsApp chats, from Nikki’s phone.

The Delhi police are gathering evidence, including CCTV footage and forensic examination, to build a strong case against him. CCTV footage has been retrieved from Nikki’s rented accommodation, where she was seen hours before the murder.

The police have also questioned people in the area and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding locations. The police stated that Sahil strangled Nikki with a data cable after an argument broke out about his secret wedding scheduled for the following day. He later disposed of her body in a refrigerator at his dhaba. Sahil was arrested on February 14 and taken into custody for further interrogation. On Wednesday, a Delhi court granted the police a five-day custody of him.

SFI requests a protest in response to DU’s new internal evaluation process

0

An event to protest the “rushed” internal assessment (IA) scheme and the postponement of exams has been planned for Monday at noon at the Arts Faculty by the Delhi University chapter of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI).

A new plan adopted by the executive council on February 3 reduced the weightage to a theory-based paper for semester-end centralised DU examinations to 56%.

As a result, the internal assessment, which previously carried 25% of the final grade, will now carry a greater weight in the eyes of the students than it did when the theory exam carried a 75% weight.`

According to an SFI press release, the internal marking has now been raised to 45% under the new IA scheme. This policy is blatantly anti-student because it takes away their autonomy and downplays the significance of standardised tests. Additionally, the fact that such a significant policy change was implemented so quickly demonstrates that the administration only views this new group of students as test subjects.

According to the press release, SFI DU took up the issue after the new internal assessment scheme was approved 15 days prior to the first-semester batch’s exams. They allegedly spoke to first-year students in numerous DU colleges about their reactions and claimed to have learned that the majority of them still had not finished their syllabuses.
