Delhi Assembly Committee Suggests Free Education for EWS Students up to Class 12

0
SCHOOLS EWS EDUATION

New Delhi: The Delhi Assembly’s Committee on Welfare of SC/STs has proposed that students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) studying in private schools receive free education up to Class 12. The recommendation was made during a meeting chaired by Karol Bagh MLA Vishesh Ravi on Saturday. If implemented, the proposal would help EWS students access quality education without any financial burden. The committee has requested the education department to take necessary action and ensure that the proposal is implemented effectively. This move is likely to have a positive impact on the education of underprivileged students in Delhi.

The Committee on Welfare of SC/STs in the Delhi Assembly has pointed out that the Right to Education (RTE) act provides for free and compulsory education for all children between the ages of six and 14. However, this only covers students up to Class 8, leaving many students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Disadvantaged Groups (DG) struggling to afford education beyond that level. The committee’s recommendation for free education up to Class 12 for EWS students studying in private schools is aimed at addressing this issue and ensuring that students from marginalized backgrounds have access to quality education.

According to the Committee on Welfare of SC/STs, the Education department of Delhi should extend the benefits of free education up to Class 12 to all economically weaker section (EWS/DG) students studying in private schools. The committee made this recommendation based on the observation that many EWS/DG students are unable to pay for education beyond Class 8, and the Right to Education (RTE) act only covers students up to that level. By providing free education up to Class 12, the committee hopes to ensure that EWS/DG students have equal access to education and opportunities for a brighter future.

During the meeting, the SC/ST welfare panel noted that providing free education to students from economically weaker sections (EWS) would reduce the risk of dropouts and ensure that all students have access to education, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Karol Bagh MLA Vishesh Ravi, who chaired the meeting, emphasized the importance of education in building a progressive and equitable society. He stated that the committee’s recommendation for free education up to Class 12 for EWS students in private schools would help thousands of students in Delhi access education without any financial burden. The proposal aims to ensure that all children have equal opportunities to pursue their academic goals and contribute to society.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that some private schools, which have received land from government agencies, already provide free education up to Class 12 to children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups (DG).

Hailey Bieber Responds to Selena Gomez’s Explanation Post We Need to Be More Mindful About Our Words

Hailey Bieber Speaks Out on Alleged Feud with Selena Gomez, Calls for More Empathy and Compassion

Model Hailey Bieber has broken her silence on her rumored feud with Selena Gomez. After Selena shared a post about receiving death threats and hateful comments, supposedly related to her past relationship with Justin Bieber, Hailey responded with a message on Instagram, thanking Selena for speaking out and expressing a desire to move past the ongoing narrative between them.

Hailey also emphasized the harmful effects of hate and division on social media, writing, “We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself. In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion.”

Hailey’s previous social media posts were interpreted by some as mean-spirited towards Selena, leading to a loss of followers and negative assumptions about their relationship. However, Selena broke her silence on the issue, stating that Hailey had reached out to her and that she advocated for kindness and an end to hate and bullying.

The feud allegedly started when Hailey appeared to bully Selena online, posting and then deleting a video that some interpreted as a reference to Selena being fat-shamed. The tension between the two goes back to 2018 when Hailey got engaged to Justin just months after his final split with Selena, whom he dated on and off for eight years.
