New Delhi: Officials said Tuesday that a 38-year-old mentally challenged man called the police and threatened to kill Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The man has been located but has not yet been apprehended.
The man called the police control room late on Monday and threatened to kill the chief minister over the phone, according to police. “We received a PCR call about the incident around 12.05 a.m.,” said DCP (Outer) Harendra Singh. The caller was quickly identified and apprehended. We haven’t arrested him because he’s mentally ill. The matter is being investigated”.
According to sources, the man works as a nursing orderly at Delhi Gate’s Guru Nanak Eye Centre. He is currently receiving treatment at a different clinic.
When asked about the man’s job, Singh stated that they would check with the hospital and that they did not have any information at this time. “We don’t know why they hired him while he’s in treatment,” police said.
